“Giving is not just about making a donation. It is about making a difference.” -Kathy Calvin

How is your money spent / invested?

Below is a list of some of the projects that were undertaken in the past few years. One of our biggest focus points remain the maintenance of the building and grounds, to ensure that it meets the needs of the residents and to provide a living space that each of our residents and the community can be proud of.

  • An Alzheimer’s division was implemented, accommodating 19 people.
  • A sun-room was added to the Alzheimer’s division.
  • Two halls were built which is a great asset to the home.
  • The kitchen was upgraded and new equipment was installed.
  • The home was painted for the 2nd time at a cost of approximately R800 000.
  • Three storage rooms were built.
  • Eleven flats were built, providing the home with additional income.
  • Fencing and two automated gates were installed, increasing security.
  • Six garages and 17 shade ports were erected.
  • Five air-conditioning units were installed, which drastically improved the living conditions of the residents.
  • The entrance hall and offices were renovated and an additional office was built.
  • Nearly all the flooring has been replaced.
  • Rooms previously used for storage were renovated and changed into accommodation for 14 people, thereby increasing income.

It is as simple as completing a separate codicil to your Will confirming your decision to support Huis de Kuilen.

Please contact us if you want to consider leaving a lasting legacy.
